Brilliant.

I am reading as much as I can on Roman church architecture and art, and Prof. Ostrow's book is simply brilliant. He has taken two huge monuments of the baroque in Rome, the enormous and richly decorated transept chapels in one of Rome's most magnificent churches, and has clearly related their planning, building, and decorative campaigns, while carefully placing them in the context of the wider church. This is art/architectural history as it should be.

Fantastic illustrations

I was searching for a special book as a Christmas present for my best friend's little girl (3 yrs old) and the illustrations in this book were immediately eye catching. I wish there were other books explaining colors, numbers, animals etc. as clearly and with such vibrant and appealing illustrated characters! The text was beautifully versed as well - this is a great team and I look forward to purchasing more of their books in the future!

First time I've ever lost interest in a series...

I started this series after seeing a low price for book one on my kindle. The first few books weren't too bad, and I was able to look past improper grammar, poor spelling, and weak storytelling to try and see the story and setting underneath. By book 4 those thing I overlooked grated on my nerves so much that I was unable to fully enjoy the story. I continued to give the story the benefit of the doubt despite the poor writing, but between book 5 and 6 the story itself is being destroyed by deus ex machina and poor intertwining of individual story arcs.

Not a very good series at all. Only reason I am still reading it is because I have to finish the story once I start, but if you are thinking about reading this series just don't seriously just don't. The story is not very well written the characters never develop but stay locked in pre-teen idiotic decision making mode. There is so much better fantasy out there. Usually there is a far amount of repetition in fantasy books that are part of a series because you need to know the details of the world and how it works and must be reintroduced to it in each book but this series takes it to the extreme not only are the world details repeated but the characters repeat the same actions again and again. I write this hoping others will see this review while researching the series and decide not to read.

Wow. How could a story that started out so good degenerate into such muck? Morgan Rice can write! When I read the first installment I thought, wow, great premise, believable characters, finally aa awesome series to follow, which come along too seldom. But every book has gotten more and more disjointed, repetitive and, well, kind of silly. This review is not about Morgan Rice. It's about an ebook industry that is too bent on pushing out material as fast as it can whether it has any quality to it or not. Morgan, I for one would buy your full length, well written books. I think you have what it takes. But these speed writings, as well as continually worsening editing, just don't do it for me. Ready to give up on the series.

About the Author
Peter Ralston began studying material arts at age nine in Singapore. He was a Sumo champion at his high school in Japan and a collegiate fencing and Judo champion while a Physiology/Anatomy major at the University of California at Berkeley. He founded the Cheng Hsin School in Oakland, where he teaches a range of courses on martial arts and ontology (the study of being).

A Must For Internal Stylists

This is the second copy of this book I have purchased. I gave the first one to a friend not knowing how hard it would be to find afterward.
This is the companion volume to Cheng Hsin: Principles of Effortless Power. Both books studied together are written well enough to allow the dilligent learner to grasp the concepts and techniques taught in this book. That doesn't mean it's easy but Peter Ralston Has given every detail possible without showing up at your doorstep to deliver the book himself. Highly Recommended.

have to see.
