Cerberal Action Thriller from Future Stars of the business!

Edmondson and Co. have crafted an action adventure story that leaves the reader spinning frantically to keep up with the twists and turns. While the title is the mystery at the book's core, the thing that drives it is an unrelenting pace set by Edmondson's writing and the brilliant art work of Zonjic.

These guys will both be huge stars, and this is the place to get on board.

Jake Ellis is a great Graphic Novel, not to be missed.

Most Graphic Novels, days and days after you've read them, they make less and less sense. Not so with "Who Is Jake Ellis?" This GN makes more and more sense.

Nathan Edmondson's writing is fun and precise, tough when it needs to be, and always original.

Tonci Zonjic's artwork is beautiful, spare, evocative. He has a way with light and shadow that borders on the magical. He tells the story with as few lines and as little detail as possible, and the result is overpowering.

The best GN I've read in years. A whopping 5 Stars for this creative mystery. A harrowing, rambunctious, taut tale. If it were jewelry, it would be brass knuckles made out of a giant flawless diamond.

Jason Bourne gets a guardian angel

Action heroes need a gimmick if they're to stand out in a crowd. The gimmick that underscores Who Is Jake Ellis? is a guardian angel ... or maybe a ghost ... at any rate, an invisible helper named Jake who is watching over Jon Moore, the action hero. Jake even watches Jon when Jon is getting it on with a woman in bed. That's a little creepy, hey?

Anyway, we don't learn until issue 2 who Jon is, or what his job was before the bad guys (or are they the good guys?) started chasing him. At that point the story has a Jason Bourne feel. Jon knows who he is but he doesn't know why the government did whatever it did to him at "the facility" four years earlier. Or maybe it wasn't the government that did whatever was done. The American government might be chasing him, but someone else might also be seeking his capture. Jon has a lot of questions, poor guy. But like Bourne, he knows better than to turn himself in.

The story has something to do with remote viewing but it's actually quite a bit more original than that. More I cannot say without spoiling it, but I can say that the writing is tight and the plot is smart. I think a longer series might have fleshed out the characters a bit more and the ending could have been stronger, but as an action-suspense story without a lot of depth, Who Is Jake Ellis? is reasonably entertaining.

The artwork is fairly conventional but more than adequate. I particularly like the way the panels are colored. Sometimes entire panels are in a single color that changes from panel to panel. Sometimes a panel is colored in different shades of the same color. Those things usually happen in settings (like a nightclub) where the coloring makes sense. The coloring of graphic art isn't usually something that stands out to me but in this case, I was impressed by it.

This book is really down to earth and honestly provides some of the best advice you can get when considering game design. A lot of game design concepts are "common sense" but then there are those that simply aren't. Scott Rogers is an amazing game designer and presents his ideas well and generic enough to be applied to any game on any platform.

Not a good effort

Being a fan of Mentzer, I was eager to read this. He does stand as someone I truly have admired in my life time. I have enjoyed his other books and always came away better for reading them. However, I was very disapointed in this book. I soon realised that the problem is it was not written by Mentzer. The first half of the book is honestly just a little too reverent in painting Mentzer as a hero. I admire him, but John Little makes him sound like a saint. It's just a little much. The second half improved as it delved into Mentzer's philosophy on training using many of his own quotes. But even here, John Little refers to his previous book so blatantly and repeatedly, he often sounds like a broken record. It was a shameless redundant self promotion that almost makes one question his sincerity.

My advice, this is just fluff and promotion. Go buy one of Mentzer's books such as Heavy Duty as it is eye opening. Mentzer was a prolific writer and had a such a keen sense of logic that made the other books such as pleasure to read. This feels like a somewhat goulish attempt by those that have survived him, to use his name and drain one last bit from his devout fans.

Merely a copy of Ayn Rand and Muscle& Fitness articles

Nearly half of this book is a reprint of Mike Mentzer's Heavy Duty Training Advice that the author reprinted from old Muscle and Fitness magazines. His material about Dorian Yates's training is reprinted from old muscle magazines as well and is partially incorrect at that. The ONLY thing good about this book were the pictures and he used virtually the same photos several times at that. Hey Little, how many times can you use a photo of Mentzer on a Nautilus Pullover machine? I am a HUGE Mentzer fan having had a phone consultation with him once but this book straight up sucks. I view this book as nothing more that trying to milk another dollar off of Mentzer's good name. As the previous review stated there is nothing here that is original. If you were a regular reader of muscle magazines, you know all of this information already. Save yourself the money and purchase a book written by Mentzer himself such as Heavy Duty 1 and 2.

excellent text on all positions with great pictures

I found this book to be very well written with a good attention to details that can aid in making the learning process smoother. The chapters are laid out well keeping an order to the important steps one must take to learn and build upon each skill. I was pleased with the chapter on metalurgy as it is very important to all types of welding procedures. I suggest this text to any welder in search of a basic starting point in this field. Well worth the money.

Excellent book!!!!!

This book has a lot of great info on pipe welding in the 2G and 5G position. There are plenty of tips, diagrams, and guidelines on completing a properly pipe weld. I used a couple tips to help me out in the 5G position and it did the trick. I had a better understanding on controlling the arc, fitting up importance, and what it takes to make a proper weld out on the field. If you are welder or work in piping industry this book will increase your understanding on how to complete a proper weld.

Great read. It brings together many different ideas that have been discussed before but not in a comprehensive way. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unique perspective regarding history as we know it. After all it proves that History is truly His story... to the victor goes the spoils and the right to write his story as he wants to.

This Book Shatters the Illusion of World History that We Were Taught in School

I first heard about the Swerdlows when a friend recommended the book True Reality of Sexuality. It changed my life and I've been obsessed with everything from the authors that I could get my hands on. Before reading True World History, I knew that American history and Judeo-Christian history especially, were sugar-coated and edited, but I had no idea until I read this. It blew me away and I couldn't put it down. I was hesitant to read it at first because of some reviews but it is absolutely worth it, especially with the great kindle price.

You'll learn about civilizations on Mars and other planets, the war-like civilizations on Mu and Atlantis. Decades ago newspapers, and even documents by the Smithsonian Institute, talked about Egyptian artifacts in North America. The Chinese were on the west coast, and you'll read about the amazing history of Michigan, yup Michigan, and the different cultures that traveled very far for its copper mines. There's plenty on Hitler and his expeditions to Tibet and Antarctica, and of course the horrible genocides that were carried out by the Catholic Church over the centuries. Reviewers said that this book is full of theories. Nope, it gets you to think outside of the box and really ask questions about what you've been taught. And of course the last chapters show you what you can do to improve yourself and the world.

I felt satisfied with the lengths of the different chapters of this book. I don't know why others complained. People get overwhelmed by information that's new and different. Especially if it counters what we have been told by the status quo, the media, the education system, and our government. Read this book now, it's fun and dangerous to the illusion that's been set up around you. With love...

The Underbelly of History.

Stewart Swerdlow's True World History is a captivating, engrossing, but ultimately uneven reading experience. While there is a great deal of intriguing insight into world history, his sketchy scholarship and breezy attitude detract from what might otherwise be an important work. In the area of suppressed archeology, however, Swerdlow really shines - in fact, whenever he knows his business his prose style tightens and your attention is riveted. Too often, however, his cavalier style is simplistic and dismissive. The maps and graphs are noteworthy, but sometimes outweigh the thin text that accompanies them. This is not an encyclopedia, tis true, but the endless snippets require a bit more substance. The aim of this book is to zero in on historical inaccuracies, and this he does with a laser focus - though often at the expense of complexity, where truth is to be found.

I absolutely recommend this book, however, and will read it again. There are many important passages and much I did not know. In today's zombie zeitgeist it is a brave attempt to shake people out of their complacent, cud chewing mediocrity. The world may be screwed, but it's more interesting than we knew - this he informs us with dash and verve. Lots of astonishing material here, good potential for a mature second edition.
