Absolutely THE BEST!

I have owned and seen many books on parasitology in both human and veterinary medicine over the past 40 years. This is the BEST I have ever seen. The many many many color photos are magnificent and the topics are thoroughly covered! I would recommend this to all veterinarians and veterinary students.

Too detailed for quick reference in a clinical setting.

This is a great reference if you want extremely detailed information and great color photos. But, I find in clinical practice that I want a 'quick reference'. If I want to brush up on life cycles or proper medications for treating parasites I think "Veterinary Parasitology" by William Foreyt is a better reference. The one drawback is that the photos are in black and white. But, I don't care about that. The outline format of Foreyt's book is perfect for quick info on the run in a busy veterinary clinic.

Introductory Analytical Psychology

From the foreword by C. G. Jung (1956): "The problem this book is concerned with is one in which I, too, have been interested for a long time. It is now exactly fifty years since I learned, thanks to the association experiment, the role which complexes play in our conscious life . . . Dr. Jacobi has made it her task, in this book, to expound the important connection on the one hand between the individual complex and the universal, instinctual archetype, and on the other hand between this and the symbol. The appearance of her study is the more welcome to me in that the concept of the archetype has given rise to the greatest misunderstandings and -- if one may judge by the adverse criticisms -- must be presumed to be very difficult to comprehend. Anyone, therefore, who has misgivings on this score can seek information in this volume, which also takes account of much of the literature."

It is very interesting and accessible, even for the ones not familiar with Jung's theories. It is a good introduction that makes you wanting to know more about C.G. Jung.

This is an incredible book teaching about something so foundational in the Kingdom of God. The more we can understand this and grasp this in our lives, the great we will be!

Russell's teaching is a dangerous mix of prosperity Gospel and grace

Russell Evans writes, “our relationship with God was restored with honor, and honor is the system God has built for blessing our relationships with Him and others...God wants us to experience heaven on earth—to live life and to live it abundantly."

Reading this book was as painful as listening to any of Russell's sermons: there is a clear lack of deeper understanding of the Bible and, having being influenced by the likes of Joel Osteen, the key premise is always the same, namely, improving the quality of life on earth by getting a better job, earning a bigger paycheck or restoring one's health. Please notice that "heaven on earth" is not knowing God or learning endurance, or perhaps, growing in patience, no, it is always material.

The language of the book reminds one of Gnosticism: there is a key (honor key) that unlocks this gateway to heaven. Russell just takes this major premiss for granted and does not even bother to defend it. Where does the Bible teach that living an honorable life will unlock God's merit? Where does the Bible define honor? This teaching is as anti-Biblical as day is to night, for it is precisely in our sin and failure that grace knocks on the door. In fact, merit would not be merit if it was earned. If God gave us His Son while we were still sinners, how much more will He give us what we need (not want, Russel); however, God's concern is mainly sanctification, not material plethora. There is no special "key" to unlock God's blessings.

Omitting key Bible passages that indeed warn against this kind of teaching, he proceeds to show us the supposed steps one can take to ensure heaven on earth. Apparently, Russell has yet to read Christ's teaching that of ourselves we can do nothing; we are not capable of living an "honorable" life (notice the change of definition) by ourselves; in everything, we are dependent on God.

During of one of his sermons, when the book was on sale for a dollar, Russell lamented "Am I not worth more than a mere dollar?", you are, Russell but your teaching is not. I would not recommend this book to any person who is committed to seeking Jesus (and not material blessings, ie "heaven on earth").

Honor is the foundation of the kingdom of God, and it unlocks the possibilities of heaven.

027021LI really enjoyed The Honor Key. I never really thought the place honor has in our life and the consequences of walking that out in daily life. The author demonstrates what honor is and why we should live in a culture of honor with principles and examples that are easy to understand.

It was Biblical and a fairly quick read, although I slowed down to make sure I really received the message the author was trying to convey.

If you're ready for a deeper relationship with God and wonder what a gameplan should be, I recommend introducing honor into your life. And start with The Honor Key.
