About the Author
Stanley George had a successful career in telecommunications spanning 33 years. Starting as an apprentice and finishing as Head of HR for BT Networks. On retiring to the south of France he had time to reflect on the humorous adventures along the way and this led to the memoir 'Please Wipe Your Boots'. Stanley is currently writing a similar account of 10 years as an ex-pat. The strange characters and bizarre events encountered in rural France match the chaos that was the GPO. He hopes that you enjoy this book as much as he enjoyed writing it.

Totally brilliant book about a time when the GPO was making money and yet you can still have fun at work.

Hi all I was an engineer at the end of the GPO days and the start of BT Busby days. This book was a real blast from the past and at times I was crying with laughter it's brilliantly written and at time I was sent back to days at Aylesbury Exchange. The smells, the sounds, and even I have tinnitus please if your X GPO BT this is the book for you. Thanks to Stanley George.
